FRANCE’S ACTION.
ONE CHIEF FOR THREE FORCES
Received January 22, 2 p.m. . PARIS, Jan. 21. France’s latest move towards the unification of her defence forces is the unprecedented appointment of one commander for the army, navy and air force, namely. General Gamelin, ex Chief of the Army General Staff. M. Daladier (Minister of War) simultaneously becomes responsible for all three Defence Ministries. General Gamelin will co-ordinate the three services in wartime.
