PRE-WEDDING PARTIES.
MISS P. E. PIERCEY ENTERTAINED.
Many parties have been given for Miss P. E. Piercy, who lias resigned her position oil the teaching staff of the ltussell Street School to be married shortly. An enjoyable gift evening was organised by. tho ladies’ committee of tho school and besides being presented with a crystal salad bowl from tho committee, Miss Piercy received many gifts from well-wishers. A mannequin parade of thirty years ago was staged at a novel fancy dress bridge party by Mrs F. Gowing, of Heretaunga Street, at which Miss Piercy was the guest of honour. Mesdames C. N. Rabone, A. K. Simpson and M. J. McArtney entertained at Mrs Rabone’s residence at a kitchen tea party, and Miss Pjercy received many useful gifts. A number of friends gathered at a party given by Mrs S. J. Parkes, of ‘Parklands,” to present Miss Piercy with a crystal jug and goblets, and Mrs Whittaker, of Allan Street, entertained at a gift afternoon.
