HIGHER BIRTHRATE.
STATISTICS FOR ITALY. Received January 21, 12.40 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 20. I’he Rome correspondent of the Daily Telegraph states that the population of Italy is 43,929,000. The birthrate is 22.7 per 1000, compared with 22.2 in 1936. The death rate is 13.6 per thousand. The adverse trade balance is £56,399,960.
