LONDON MEAT SUPPLIES.

ELEVEN MONTHS’ FIGURES. PORK DOWN; LAMB UP. Supplies of meat handled at the central markets in London during the 11 months ended November 30, 1937, show slight increases in beef and veal and mutton and lamb, and a decrease in pork and bacon, when compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, according to the official returns received by the Meat Board.

Total supplies of beef and veal were 227,529 tons, an increase of 576 tons. Mutton and lamb totalled 126,527 tons, an increase of 2275 tons, while pork and bacon at 41,283 tons, decreased by 3549 tons. The beef and veal figures compare as follow:

Totals — Mutton and lamb . . 126.627 124,252 Home supplies show a decrease, New Zealand is almost unchanged, while Australia and the Argentine show increases. Pork and bacon supplies compare as follow:—
