HEAVY ENTRIES.

ADDINGTON sFOCK MARKET. PRICKS EASIER. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 19. Exceptionally heavy entries were the rule at to day’s Adddington market, and as a result' there was a general casing. Fat sheep was the section most affected. Store sheep.—About 10,000 were penned, 80 per cent, being wether lambs. The best of these sold well at 18s to 19s 9d, medium 16s to 17s 6d, small and poor conditioned 13s to 14s 6d: adult wethers, 23s to 265. Ewo lambs sold poorly at 21s 6d, this being the best price for a quality pen. Only a few pens of ewes wore forward. Fat lambs.—A small entry of 1300 head, which sold at the lowered export rate of 72d a lb for the best.

Fat sheep.—An over-supply, the entry consisting of 7500 head. Wethers were down by 2s 6d a head, big ewes by 3s 6d and export ewes by as much ns Is 6d. Company buyers bought heavily. Best wethers sold from 31s 6d to 34s 6d, few tops to 375, good 27s 6d to 30s, light down to 245; best ewes 21s to 235, few to 24s 6d, medium to good 18s 6d do 20s 6d, light down to 15s. ....

Fat cattle. —-555 were penned, of indifferent quality. Values were down by 20s to 25s a head, the pennning constituting an over-supply. Best beef brought 34s to 36s a 1001 b., in some cases to 37s 6d. Good sters sold at £l4 10» to £l6 7s 6d, prime medium £l2 10s to £l4, light down to £9; best cows and heifers, to £ll 7s 6d ; medium heifers, £8 to £9 10s, light down to £7; secondary cows down to £5 15s. Fat pigs.—Pnces eased for both porkers and baroners. Porkers made from 32s 6d to 51s 6d, an average price a lb of 6d to 6sd. Baconcrs made 54s 6d to £3 11s 6d, an average price a lb. of 5d to 6id. Store pigs.—A heavy entry and a good sale. Weaners realised 14s to 20s, slips 21s to 235, stores 27s to 36s 6d.

JOHNS ON VILLE VALUES. A small yarding of cattle and an averncfc yardimr of sheep came forward -at the Johnsonvillc sale yesterda3 r . The bulloc-k pens consisted chiefly of medium-weight and heavyweight bullocks, with a few pens of lightweight quality cattle. Extra heavy bullocks met with a'good sale, with prices firm on last week’s, while lightweight and medium-weight cattle showed an easing tendency. Owing to a shortage of railway trucks no cows and heifers catne forward. Owing to the inferior quality of runners and vealers, these mot with little demand, with prices easier to the extent of 5s per head on last week’s. The yarding of wethers was of good quality. Extra prime heavy wethers met with keen competition, with prices showing no alteration, while prime medium-weight sheep were slightly firmer. Fvfra prime quality hoggets sold readily. There was little demand, for extra heavv ewes, while medium-weight and lightweight sheep met with a good sale with prices slightlv above those ruling for cvnort. LEVIN SALE. LEVIN, Jan. 19. The weekly slock sale was held at the Levin yards’ yesterday, when there were good yardings of pigs and cattle, together with a full entry of lambs. Prices for pigs and fat cattle showed a very slight easing. Store sheep were cleared at full late rates, while the sale was an excellent one for all classes of lambs. STORTFORD LODGE SALE. HASTINGS, Jan. 19. Tliore were smaller entries in all classes at the stortford ’ Lodge live stock sale to-day. Quality generally was lacking, and consequently values showed a decline. The fat cattle yarding was mainly cows, with a small sprinkling of heifers. There was no finished ox beef. Better aorts or cows madeto 25s a 1001 b, medium 20s. The fat sheep yarding was small, and contained very few welhers. The yarding of store sheep was only 7000, against 20.000 last week, hut despite the smaller yarding values showed a decided easing, and several lines of good t W o-tooths sold

at 19s to 20s 9d. Woolly ewe lambs were hard to sell at 225, and best Down cross lambs at 17s 9d. The top price for storo sheep was 24s 3d, for an exceptional line of wethers from Waiwharo station. No store cattle were yarded. Some of the realisations were
