PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE.

“A UNITED IRELAND.”

IMPROVEMENT HOPED FOR

Received January 20 11.50 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 19. Mr de Valera, in a message to Irish people overseas, said: _ “I am hopeful that the discussions will end in an improvement in our relations with our neighbour. AVe have throughout emphasised the ending of the partition, and the restoration of the unity of Ireland as an essential foundation for the establishment of real understanding and friendship. The difficulties still ahead are great, but the discussions have been conducted in a frank and friendly atmosphere. AVe ask all people of goodwill to assist in removing them.”
