ANGLO-EIRE TALKS
SATISFACTORY OUTCOME. FURTHER MEETINGS LATER. TRADE AGREEMENT PROBABLE.. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) ' Received January 20, 9.25 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 19. An official statement issued after to-day’s Anglo-Irish conversations stated: “While no agreement was reached on the various questions it was felt that the discussions had proceeded far enough to justify the officials of the respective Governments making a more detailed examination of a number of points immediately. The Ministers’ meetings will be resumed as soon as the necessary data are available.”
The Dominions Secretary (Mr Malcolm MacDonald) will confer with the President of Eire (Mr Eamon de Valera) at the latter’s hotel to-night. Meanwhile details of a comprehensive trade agreement arc being worked out.
Mr de Valera and his colleagues will leave for Dublin at 8.45 a.m. tomorrow. The experts will remain in London.
