JAPANESE CENSORSHIP. Received January 18, 12.40 p.rn. SHANGHAI, Jan. 17. Mr 11. J. Timperley. the Manchester Guardian’s Australian-horn correspondent, submitted a news telegram yesterday. The censor telephoned him to-day that the despatch was not sent and 'requested his attendance. Mr Timperley refused and referred the matter to the British Embassy, which is protesting to the Consul-General (Mr Okarnoto). Earlier reference appears on page 7.
