The Australian boAvling carnival opened to-day, bonders from .every State as Avell as the British Isles, Canada and New Zealand participatingThe competitions include singles, pairs and rinks championships. Rounds of the rinks competition, each of 18 heads, Averc played to-day oil 33 metropolitan greens, 316 competitors taking part. Play will continue to-mor* The greens were damp and sluggish after overnight rain. ' The Ncav Zealand rinks played on A-arious greens, mostly against New South Wales country teams, with the folloAving results: — FIRST ROUND. Chambers.
