DEATH OF GIRL.
CHARGE AGAINST MAN. SYDNEY, Jan. .17. At the conclusion of an inquest into the death of Marcia Hayes, the Coroner committeed Alfred Spicer, aged 65, for trial on a charge of murdering the girl. The police iendered a statement allegedly made by Spicer, explaining how the crime was committed. A message on December 26 stated: The police dog Tcss played a major part in solving tlio murder of a child, jNlarcia Hayes, aged six, of the Windsor district, during the week-end. A large party of searchers was unable to locate the child, when Tcss, after being allowed to sniff the child’s clothing at her home, set out. on the trail acre,-* the paddocks and finally located the body in a bag in a creek near the Hawkosbury River. The child had been outraged and strangled. The police have 'arrested a man aged about 50.
