MOORINGS FOR AIRSHP.
DEMOLITION IN CANADA. MONTREAL, Dec. 20. A mooring mast 200 ft high, erected at St. Hubert airport, near Montreal, by the Canadian Government seven years ago, is being demolished. It was condemned as a menace to aeroplanes, and ,the Government apparently saw no probability that this generation would find any use for lofty anchorages for airships. The mast was erected so that the British drigible R-100 could come to Canada in the summer of 1930, and it was used on that visit—but never since. The cost of the steel tower was £30,000, but additional expenditure for petrol tanks, winches and other accessories, and housing for ground crews, made the total outlay .on the project £90,000.
