CANCER TREATMENT.
TRANSFUSION OF BLOOD. LONDON, Aug. 13. A new era in surgical treatment of cancer by transfusion of blood from corpses is claimed by Professor .S. S. Yudin, Moscow, who, in an article in the Lancet, describes how blood from a man dead six hours after a bus accident was successfully given to an engineer dying from loss ot blood after attempting to commit suicide, the patient recovering in two days. Experiments with over 1000 transfusions of blood from corpses, Professor Yudin claims, convince him that the method is most successful in combating cancer haemorrhages. He is able to obtain large supplies of blood, thanks to ,the deliveries of bodies from all over Moscow from first aid ambulances. The blood is stored and has been successfully used after three weeks.
