(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, Aug. 11. Tho weekly shoot was hold when t*he members of the Ashhurst Defence Rifle Chili fired the third consecutive teams match to win by a margin of 14 points. Teams wore of ten men aside, two shoots of 7 shots each at 500yds. The opposing team were from tho Aokautere Rifles, who assisted by members of tho local club, put on very creditable scores. There were four possibles by AI. Hamsinann and F. Bassett one each and a fine double possible by R. A. Jones, who performed the double two ways by shooting and coaching F. Bassett, while each registered the possible. Detailed scores are as follow: Ashhurst. R. A. Jones, 35—35—70: AI. Hausmnitn. 32—35—67; J. Bassett. 33—34 67; J. Scarlc. 32—34—66; F. Bassett, 30 — 35—65: AI. Baton, 32—32—64; AV. G. Hornley, 32—30—62; Iv. Bassett. 30—31—61; C. Turner, 28—32 —60; J. Henson, 25—31 56; total, 638. Aokautere, N. Ilopcroft, 34—33—67: A. Clausen, 33—33—66; J. Brookie, 33—33—66; A. Brill. 31—34—65; J. AA'cbbv, 31—33—64; J. Atkinson, 31—32—63: A. Ilopcroft. 32 28—60; H. Pinfold. 31—28—59: P. Smith, 31—27—58; J. Ilopcroft, 29—27—56; total, 624. On Monday evening the Ashhurst Ping Pong Club held their tournament. There wore Iwo separate tournaments. Tho B tournament was for those players who had never won a trophy this season. Winners in tho A grade were Miss K. Brewer and Air X. Brewer, and for the B grade Aliss I. AA’oodroofe and Mr C. Osborne.
