OPOSSUM SKINS.
Small catalogues were offered at the first sale of opossum skies field at Wellington yesterday. Dalgety and Co., .Ltd., report as follows: The overseas markets have recently been depressed and latest advices from London give no hope of an early demand from the Continent, which was previously an important buyer. As a result of these conditions, the demand was restricted. A few consignments were forward from Western Lake, Featherston, Marton, and Manawatu, and were in good condition, but light in the fur. The light colours, i.e, blues and greys, were in demand, and wellcared for skirls sold well. Darks were dull of sale and were difficult to quit. Super greys sold from 8s 9d to 10s, first greys 8s 6 dto 9s 7d. second greys 5s 5d to 7s sd, third greys 3s 6d, first rusty greys 5s lOd. second rusty greys 4s 3d super darks 5s 3d. super red blacks 4s 3d to 6s, first red blacks 3s 6d to 4s 6d, first red necks 4s 2d, second red necks 2s lid
