AIARTON, Aug. 9. Mr D. Reynolds is on holiday in the Otago district. A Marton Badminton Club team travelled to Wanganui on Friday night to play the Wanganui Savage Club. The visitors’ men players had the better of exchanges, but the ladies were outclassed, the Savage Club winning by a margin of 4 matches and 24 aces. July was a dry month in Marton, the total rainfall being only 1.22 in, as compared with the normal fall of 3.72 in. The rainfall for the past seven months, totalling 24.29 in, is above the average over a number of years by 2.73 in.
