TRIAL POSTPONED.

DR. NIEMOLLER'S ACTIONS. Received August 10, 9.20 a.m. BERLIN, Aug. 9. The trial of Dr. Martin Niemoller, leader of the Confessional movement, has been indefinitely postponed, presumably through fear of further demonstrations. “MIGHT BE ACQUITTED.” REASON FOR DELAY. Received August 10, 11.55 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 9. The Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent suggests that the postponement of the trial of Dr. Niemoller is due to the authorities’ fear of his acquittal. The correspondent recalls that two prominent Evangelical pastors have been acquitted on similar charges within five weeks. The oflicial reason for the postponement is that further evidence that is available requires examination.

Dr. Niemoller is accused of announcing from the pulpit the names of members of the congregation who have soceded from the church, such announcement being forbidden. :
