ITALIAN OVERTURES.

TO BRITAIN AND FRANCE. OPTIMISTIC SIGN. LONDON, Aug. 9. A cable from Rome says that the Press and officialdom in Italy continue to express optimistic hopes for an 4-nglo-Italian rapprochement. It is considered likely Count Ciano will visit London or Mr Chamberlain will visit Rome. A Paris message says: Considerable interest is attached to Signor Cerutti’s visit to M. Chautemps, whom lie informed that the Italian Government’s view was that improvement of AngloItalian relations should be followed by similar Franco-Italian relations. This indicates that Signor Mussolini has abandoned his recent ' policy of seeking to separate England and France.
