BUYERS DECEIVED.
SALES OF HONEY SUBSTITUTES. Received August 9, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 8. Legislation is proposed to prevent the deceptive use of honey. Substitutes at present are actually exceeding the sales of the. genuine product in Britain. Labelled “Prepared Honey,” these are largely glucose and are sold in sixpenny jars not containing a halfpennyworth of pure honey. The Dominion Governments support the Brit-' ish Beekeepers’ Association in its claim for legal protection, for the word “honey.”
