Sir,—As one of the early settlers of this disriet 1 take the opportunity of thanking you for your continued information in “Thirty years ago.’ it serves to remind many of us of events that took place in those days and unknown to the present generation. Further, it points out how much alive the early settlers were to the importance of Palmerston North and Manawatu and that their ideas of the future have been well justified.
