COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. Aug. 9. As a sequel to the circulation of a number of forced £5 Reserve Bank notes among shopkeepers in Auckland on Christmas Eve last, a man arrested in Welling’on on July 22 appeared before Mr Wyvern Wilson in the Police Court to day and was charged with forging a £5 note and with uttering several. The accu- \ man, Charles Alfred Remmers, ag. d 49, a labourer, was not represented by counsel. After a number of witnesses had been called by the police, Remmers pleaded not guilty to the six charges and was committed for trial in the Supreme Court on a charge of forging a £5 Reserve Bank note at Wellington in December. Remmers was remanded to appear at Wellington on Thursday next.
