RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Aug. 7. The friends of Mr A.. Campbell will regret to learn that he is an inmate of the Wanganui Hospital. “The Government has been very disappointed that the Bill has not received a more favourable reception,” said Mr Ormond Wilson, M.P., who was in attendance at yesterday’s meeting .of tho Itangitikei County Council, when he was shown a resolution passed by the council opposing the proposed Local Government (Amalgamation Schemes) Bill 1936. He intimated that amalgamation was definitely being proceeded with. If the scheme was passed, Cr. Doole assured Mr Wilson, the council would combine in making the proposal workable in such a way as to bring about efficiency and harmony.
