WELLINGTON BRICES HIGHER.
Higher prices for sheepskins and hides ruled 6 at tlio sale held yesterday by tho Wellington brokers. Competition wa* keen anfl a good clearance was made. ; Ueepskins.-Therc was a goed demand for all grades, and prices for dry shins showed an advance on last sale 9 ialc^ |d to id per lb. A small offering of salted skins also sold well. Hides.—An improved market was and a good clearance was effected. Heavy, medium, and lightweights advanced by Ad n-7 b heavy kip by id per lb; light kjP and yearling" by‘ about id to M per lb. while calfskins sold well, up to ate rales Tallow. —A small offering, little change in. prices being recorded. The following is the range of prices Sheepskins. —Half bred, 14W to 16|d : fine crossbred, 14d \o 16R1; medium crossbred 12 'rl to 16id; coarse crossbred, laid to isle! ; half-wools, 10id to , 16d; quarterwools lOd to 142 d; pelts, 9Jd to IW.
