ITALIAN COURT CASE.
AGREEDIENT PRIOR TO MARRIAGE.
Received July 5. 10.20 n..m. ROME. July 4. The Supreme Court, in giving judgment in the case of Signora Emilia Riva, who was married in 1921, upheld the finding of the Papal Ecclesiastical Court that ail agreement made prior to marriage to avoid the procreation of children invalidated the marriage.
The litigation has been proceeding for five years. It began in Pekin, where the Ecclesiastical Court declared that the Matrimonial Accord Act is an Act whereby both parties give and accept the eternal right for the procreation of children ; any pact contrary thereto which is signed before marriage is contrary to the scope of the Act.
