PALMERSTON NORTH SALE.
Competition was keen at the sale of wool oddments, sheepskins, hides and tallow hold by Abraham and Williams, Ltd., on Thursday at Palmerston North. Values in most eases advanced slightly on last sale. Wool: Values for ail grades were firm, with erutchings slightly in advance. Sheepskins: There was an advance, values being Jd to id higher than last month’s realisations. Salted skins were on a par. Hides: The values received for both ox and cowhides were slightly casior on the last sale. Calfskins, however, advanced jd to id. Tallow: Thero was a further decline in values of 6d to Is per cwt. The following is the range of values: — Wool. —Fine hoggsts, 15d to 15jd: crossbred, 14d to 15d; (retchings first, i3jd to 14d; erutchings second, 12d to 13d; locks and pieces, 8d to iOd; dead, 13d to 14d. Sheepskins.—Vine hoggets, 13id to 14jd; hoggets, 13jd to 14jd; three-quarter-full wools, 14d to 14£d; quarter-half wools, 13d to 14jd: crossbred, damaged, lid-to 12jd; lambs, 13jd to salted quarter-half wools, 7s 6d to 7s 9(i; salted half-three-quarter wools, 8s to 9s. Hides. —Ox heavy, 9d to 9|d; medium, B|d to 92d; light, 7d to 7gd; cow heavy, 7§d to 7|d; medium, to 7|d; lirflt, 7id to 7fd; yearlings, 12d to 13jd; calf, light first, 15d to 15Vd; light second, 14|d to 15d; cut, 12id to 14id. Tallow. —In drums, first, 20s 9d to 22» 6d; ill tins, first, 13s 6d to 15s. ,
