CLEARING SALES.
JERSEY CATTLE DISPOSALS. Much attention was focused on the sale of high-grade tested Jerseys offered by the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency for Mr W. 11. Gibson, of Kiwitea on Thursday, and a representative bench of buyers cleared the line at prices on a par with recent sales. As usual, the lafe calvers did not bring high prices, but the July and August ealvers sold readily at an average of ±llO. A lino of six cows in mil 1c sold at an averago of £6, and the two-year springing heifers sold at £7. Three pedigree heifers, sold separately, realised up to Bgns. The 18 yearling heifers from dams testing over 3501 b fat, word a good lino and sold at £3 13s 6d. The bulls were in good condition and sold at 7gns and 12jps for the yearlings. The aged bull Middlewood Banjuko brought llgns SALE AT SHANNON. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held a clearing sale for Mr 11. E. Williams at Shannon this week, when a good herd of 75 cows met with keen competition to sell at an averago all over of £7 to buyers from Levin, Foxton, Ohau, Fitzherbert and Shannon districts. There were several October and November ealvers in the herd, and this type 6poilt the average, but July ealvers sold up to £l3. The springing heifers were a good lino and sold for £6 5s and £6, and the yearling heifers sold as a line for £3 4s. Several pigs offered by Mr 11. T. Burgess attracted attention, and brought the following prices: Sows with litters, £2 12s 6d. £6 ss; store pigs, 10s 6d to 20s; sows to farrow, £4 2s 6d to £4 15s; aged boar, 20s. ASIIIIURST VALUES. In conjunction with Dalgety and Co., Ltd., the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency offered a herd of 30 cows at Ashhurat saleyards on account of Mr 13. B. Johnstone, on Wednesday. This herd, which included a number of excellent cows, did not meet with the competition expected, and sold at an average of £6 14s, buyers being favoured with an off day.
