LARGE CROWD ATTENDS.

ATTRACTIONS AT AWAPUNI INTERESTING PROGRAMME.

Tho popular Awapuni course, though in the winter garb of Nature, looked Dioefc attractive, and the large crowd of racegoers who attended had every circumstance in their favour for an enjoyable day. Eight rac«i were carded on a programme which included three jumping events, and the increased stakes had drawn a good class of horses. Several northern horses took their place in tho fields, and Taranaki stables were strongly represented, the teams including a contingent making their last appearance before crossing the Tasman to do their spring racing in Australia. Under the direction of the president (Mr C. Lonisson) and secretary (Miss M. Buchanan), the meeting proceeded very smoothly, the arrangements being most efficient. There was, too, a general appreciation of the car parking facilities and the capable manner ill which the traffic was handled.
