CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report holding a highly successful sale of dairy cows, pigs, sundries, etc., on account of the estate of the late Mr W. Baldwin, at the Ashhurst saleyards on Tuesday last. Buyers were present from a wide area and the cows, which had excellent butter fat backing and were in tip-top condition, sold under keen competition, the whole herd averaging £8 19s. A line of 24 cows which we also offered on account, of Mr W. Hunt, of Raumai, also sold readily, this herd averaging £( 5s <xL Sundries, etc., sold freely at * late rates. Quotations: Early July calvers, £8 £8 10s, £9, £9 10s. £lO, £lO 10s, £ll, £ll 10s to £l2; August calvers, £7. £7 10s, £B, £8 10s. £f) 10s to £10; weaner Jersey heifers, 30s to £3; separator, £10; shearing plant, £22; engine, 3 h.p., £l6.
