WAIATA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WAIATA, June 29. ’['lie June meeting of the Waiata Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Mrs Walker, Mrs A. 0. Simpson presiding over a good attendance. A number of visitors were welcomed. The' roll call was for household remedies, all responding, A money box was presented to Mis Humphries’s infant son. An 'instructive talk on homo nursing was given by Mrs Barniccat. On the motion of Mrs Aiulholland, she was accorded a vote of thanks. Continuing the “Golden Chain” series of talks, Mrs McLeod spoke on Mary Slcssor and Mrs Brcmner on Sir Chitlin Mackenzie. Mrs 11. Mulholland was first and Mrs R. W. Brown second in a competition for whole-meal scones. A competition for tho best flower was won by Mrs Brown, Miss J. Redslmw being second. A “twisted birds" competition was won by Mrs Mulholland, witli Mrs Barnicoat second. Mns Simpson proposed a vote of thanks to'Mrs Walker and the assisting hostesses.
