FOXTON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, June 28.
A car driven by Mr Allinghnm, of Dannevirko, who was accompanied by his wife and proceeding north towards Foxton, crashed through the railings of tho Main Drain bridge shortly after midday and ended up on its side in the drain. The occupants had a narrow escape from serious injury and possibly drowning. Mr and Mrs Allinghani, standing up on tho car which was almost submerged, were promptly assisted out by Mr C. Petersen and Mr V. Betty, of Foxton, and taken to Foxton, where .Mrs Allinghani had to receive medical attention.
Mr G. Alexander and family have left Foxton to take up their residence in Westport. Mr A. Alexander is remaining in Foxton and Mr Alan Alexander has accepted a position in Wellington. Mr It. T. Betty shows a decided improvement in his health. He is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital. Mrs Harold Tremcwan, of Lower llutt, is spending a few days with Mr and Mrs Charles Hunt, of Whittaker Street.
