BUNNYTHORPE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) An/.ao Day services were conducted on the recreation ground, when there was a large attendance, the presiding ministers being Rev. Kempthorne (Anglican) and Rev. Hail (Methodist). Anthems suitable for the occasion were sung by the combined choirs. Rev. Kempthorne gave a very stirring address, reminding all of those whose memory they were that day honouring. ille impressed on all their duty as citizens of the Empire, stating that to-day tl»?y were enjoying the freedom won by their gallant dead who were comrades to each other. So he urged them as citizens to be com .‘ados At a special meeting of the Sports Club held on Monday, it was decided to abandon the sports this year. At a special meeting of the Football Club held on Monday, at which there were 20 present, Mr Ellevely presided. The placing of two teams in the competitions uus fully dealt with and it was decided to withdraw the third grade team owing to only some nine players being avuilabl;. Other business of interest to the club was considered, Mr J. Smith was elected to act as club captain and it was decided to hold a series of dances and euchre tourneys during the season. Mr J. L. Benum, of the Magistrate's Court, Wellington, is spending a holiday with his uncle, Mr Gallop, of Buriuythorpe.
