FISHERAIi-N BATTLE FOR LIFE. BRISBANE, April 14.' Tho capsizing of an open boat _ in the surf off the Queensland-New South Wales border, and a successful struggle against the elements by two well-known local fishermen thrilled thousands of holiday-markers on Kina beach yesterday. Charlie and George Boyd were taking a number of buoys across to Kirra for tho surf carnival in an ordinary rowing boat, when a heavy sea capsized it in the boiling surf. Both battled safely back to the upturned boat, and a lifeline w r as run out from the shore to bring both boat and men safely to land. Both the Boyds received a severe buffeting, and George Boyd sustained a severe cut under the right eye.
