Dairymen in Conference

Daring the deliberations of the Dairymen's Conference in Palmerston at Winter- Show time the following motions will be submitted :— Midhirst Dairy Co—l. " That it would be advisable to spey all cows by Government Veterinaries which have proved unprofitable for dairy purposes, so as to prevent same being (passed on as dairy epws to neighbouring herds." Stratford Co op. Dairy Co.—l. " That the Executive of the National Dairy Association be recommended to call for tenders for accident insurance for factory employees. Experience of local bodies tends to prove that a considerable economy would be effected by adopting this course." 2. " That in view ot the many anomalies in the working of ' The Companies Act, 1903,' as applied to Co operative Dairy Companies, it is therefore advisable that a special Act be passed for such companies, or suitable amendments made in 'The Companies Act, 1903.'" Sundry Resolutions. —1. "That :the Association should consider and formulate a scheme for the insurance of buildings, plant and machinery against fire." 2. " That in the opinion of this meeting it is desirable that in any proposed revision of the Customs tariff there should be no increase in the duty pow charged on machinery used for dairying purposes, except in the direction of more clearly defining the interpretation of the Customs Tariff Act.
