Colonel Mackenzie's force, ascending tho Mlcala mountain by precipitous ivuffir paths winding over the hills and through dongas, destroyed the kraals of Mangodi, Bambaata's chief lieutenant. Many horses losing their foothold foiled over the steep slopes and were killed. Received May 25, at 9.46 a.m. PIETERMAII LTZB U RG, May 24. Mr Haldane, Minister for War, has placed the Imperial Ordnance Stores in South Africa as far as possible at the disposal of Natal. A rebel emissary was captured in the Transvaal after trying to persuade the native chiels of Zuluiand to rise simultaneously. A cordon of troops has been drawn round Ukandhla. Toey captured many starving rebels. Two hundred and fifty native women and children are being fed at Ukandhla, I and 1'25 others near Greytown. i
