The Inquest.
An inquest was opened, at the Courthouse ihis afternoon before the Coroner, Captain Mow!em, and a jury of six, of whieli Mr H. Brougham was chosen foreman. Constable Mcßae represented the police. Dr. Putnam deposed that this morning he made a postmortem examination of the body of deceased. He found no signs of violence, but on examining the iuternal organs it was seen that the kidneys and heart showed signs of chronic Bright's disease. The man was much emaciated and showed signs of neglect aiul lack of food. Chronic Bright's disease was the cause of death. The man had been dead between three and six days. Charles Rouse, a neighbour of deceased, said that lie was last seen alive on Sunday. He had complained of illhealth on several occasions, but would not agree to a suggestion that he should be brought in to the Hospital. About noon yesterday he visited deceased s whare and found him dead in his bunk. Immediately after he tokl the police. The jury, without retiring returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
