Campbell-street School Committee.
The monthly meeting of the Campbellstreet School Committee was held last night. Present—Messrs Palmer (chairman), Clausen, Pen-in, Bett and Swallow. Apologies were received from Messrs Wilson and Aiteheson. A vote of sympathy with Mr Bridge, Chairman of the Education Board, in his illness was .passed.; The head master reported that the average roll number was 603, the average attendance 560, the present roll 599. The attendance had been very satisfactory, when the number of wot days experienced last month was considered. The report of the inspector on the last examination was forwarded, which was considered very satisfactory when taken with the fact that for the first six months of the year the school was understaffed. The Inspector made a pleasing reference to the school gardens. Col. Loveday, commanding the N.Z. school cadets, intended to inspect the companies attached to the school to-day. The Board wrote stating that ten smali desks had been ordered for the school.
