The Advance on Mukden.

Preparing for Another Biff Battle.

LONDON, September 28. The Japanese advanced at dawn to the left bank of the Liao river, and are strongly posted at Shanchau.

The Chinese in Mukden refuse to act as Russian spies. ■Eussian cavalry report that a. big Japanese advance is being made west of the railway. Swarms of Japanese, disguised as Chinese coolies, are trying to dynamite the railway between Khaniarovsk' and Harbin, though sentries are in touch, witb each other from Irkutsk.

A correspondent of the newspaper Lokalan Zieger cables that the Japanese are crossing the Himho, 50 miles from Mukden.

The Japanese are running engines and a thousand trucks to Haicheng, and have constructed other lines to facilitate the carriage of whiter supplies.
