Mr G. S. Bridge.
Condition Hooefiil.
This morning we received the following telegram from'Mr F. Pirani, of Petone:—"ln view of the reports published with reference.to.Mr G. S. Bridge, I think it necessary to point out that there is still room for hope. • It is erroneous to say the first operation was unsuccessful. So.far as carried out, viz., to ascertain the extent of the complaint, and prepare for the major operation, if possible, the operation was completely successful. Since the operation Mr Bridge has been wonderfully well, and I had half-an;hour?s interview with him on Sunday. He discussed education matters fully with me and was pleased at the recommendation of the Committee of Enquiry into the Wanganui school. If a second operation is attempted there is a chance of his living for years should the symptoms not recur and the shock to his system be not too severe. In similar operations at Home the recoveries are seventy-five per cent. Mr Bridge expressed himself perfectly satisfied with his medical attendant and nursing. Dr. Logan performed the operation."
