The following is the remainder of the business transacted at yesterday's meeting of the Manawatu County Council.For... The Council decided to allow Mr Carl Anderson to adopt a suggestion made by him to prevent the roads being cut up by the fraction engine, which is to have the hack axle ot his waggons made longer so that the wheels will go outside the track made by the engine, no greater load than 2. tons to be carried in each waggon. It was also decided to request the Rongotea Butter Factory Directors to have firewood, etc. carted by vehicles having tires not less than •!■ inches. MISCELLAN-iOCS. Notico was givon of tho intention of striking tho following scp.rate rates: —3-10thd in the £ S.uoon, 1-Gthd Waitohi, 1-olhd Roi^otea, 1-lGthd Carnarvon, id Kawa Kawa, :J1 Awahou. Such rate to become due, and piyab'o at the County offices, Samoa, August Ist, v.m. The increase in wages risked for by the engine driver was no! granted. The Council decided to prohibit flax e-irter.. from c.irrying greater lo ids than two tons. It w..s clso decided to contribute £10 to Rongotea and Simoon in aid of th_ Coronation and Peace celebrations if tho Government agree to subsidise Xl for £1. Cr Clarke was appointed to appear at tho Licensing mce'ing at Marton on Friday next to object to the granting of a license being issued for a hotel at Rongotea.
It was decided to endeavour to purchase two acres o! land from .Mr Hunter on tho Feilding-Awahuri road for a gravel pit.
Tho Council adjourned till lG'.h July.
