Jurymen summoned in the case of Hawkins v. Koyal Insurance Company were discharged this morning till tomorrow at 10 o'clock. Mr A. E. Mayo was excused from further attendance owing to the distance he had to trarel from home. Jurymen in the case of Cox- v. Cornford were also discharged till ten o'clock to-morrow, the case coming on after the insurance case, which it is expected will only last an hour, the majority of the facts being admitted.
At the District Court this morning, in granting tho application of Mr W. S. Hart for exemption from service on the jury on the ground that ho was a member of the Fire Brigade, his Honor stated it was a pity members of the brigade did not attend at the meeting of Justices when the jury list was being revised and signed and have their names struck off. It was a great nuisance to members to have to obtain exemption forms and attend Court to present them when thoro was uo necessity.
