C team of the Association began their match against Ireland's team yesterday. | The weather and pitch were first-class. As usual C. team were short in numbers and of their score of 40, Warden was.responsible for 25 most of which were made by hard forward drives. Boon was the only other to make a stand. He played carefully and though his score was small, his defence was good and he deserved to be not out. Ireland's then went to the wicket and compiled 117 runs of which- Pickering made 32 from very good cricket indeed. London, February 28. the fighting which took place to the north of Koodoosrand at Paardeburg on Sunday, the 18th inst'., the casualties among the British rank and file totalled 740. I Amongst the wounded were Corporal Owens, of the N.S.W. Mounted Infantry (severely) and Private Cheeser (slightly).
