The Strasburg Clock.

. Th« following is a description of the Strasburg Clock now on exhibition at the Foresters' Hall. Every quarter of an hour the cherub on the left of the dial strikes a bell, then the figure representing the quartet completed moves off through a door on the right ; the cherub on the right reverses the sand glass, the 'door m the right portico of the chapel opens, and the Apostles appear m procession. As they advance the angels of Life and Death simultaneously turn towards them, the centre doors open, and the Saviour advances holding m his hands the banner of redemption. As the Apostles approach, each turns and bows lowly to the Saviour, who blesses them. As Peter approaches Sa*an appears, and by his actions seems to tempt Peter, who .alone does not bow, but turns his back m denial upon his Lord ; then the cock on ihft weight tower flaps his wings and /Brows m memory of Peter's temptation. Then Satan again appears, and with eager eyes watches Judas-, following him stealthily along the balcony till the door closes on-him ; now the bell m the chapel gives the signal that the procession is over. It would take too much space to describe all tho dials, calendars, and other interesting features. The model is- a great work of art, and a descriptive lecture is given at short intervals. .
