Nearly 500 4>ales of wool have been purchased by the directors of the Wellington Woollen Company's woolshed at Petone. The bulk of the machinery will arrive by the ship Mataura early next month. The last of it was shipped by the Waimate, which sailed for New Zealand about the end of December last. The buildings are progressing rapidly, and it is expected that everything will be ready to commence active operations m June next.
