Boxing Night.

The amateurs are advertised to give their fourth entertainment m the Theatre Boyal on Boxing Night, and will doubtless, as. on each previous occasion, attract a crowded house. The programme published m another column is excellent, one including musical selections and dramatic representation of a varied and attractive kind. The first part of the performance will consist of a christry minstrel entertainment. Mr E. Johnston acting as interlocutor, and Messrs Weight and Haybittle as tamboand bones respectively. Songs from the chairs will be sung by Messrs Bett, Haybittle, B. Johnston, Archer, Dungan, Weight, and Hawkins. The usual ' jokes, local hits, and lauglfable comicalities indulged m by cornermen, will, we believe on this occasion, be exceptionally amusing. The comedietta following the minstrel performance is entitled "To Paris and back for £*5," the characters being represented by Messrs Haybittle, E. Johnston, Mitchell, Dungan, Haultain, Wrightson, and a lady amateur ; each of whom, we believe, have studied and rehearsed their parts carefully and successfully. On the whole a most enjoyable evening's amusement may be anticipated on Saturday next, ■when we hope to see the largest audience which has yet patronized our highly deserving amateurs.
