I Messrs Pollard and Siraes, of the Wan- * ganui Parcels Forwarding Agency, have been appointed agents for the New Zealand Express Company, (Cuff and Graham,) Christchurcb, and persons desirous of sendine parcels or receiving same I should consign to Pollard and Simes, by whom instructions will be faithfully car- ' ried out. A number of additional entries are made to Mr Freeman R. Jackson's catalogue for the St. Hill-street stock sale on Wednesday next. It is related that an Indian horseman gave his Animal a dram of opium, and thus .enabled him to travel with ease forty-three miles further. If the railway returns are an indication of prosperity then HawkeY Bay should be the most prosperous district m the colony, the returnt fpr the month just published showing: an increase of £1,500 over the corresponding period of last year. — Examiner.
