THE CHORAL SOCIETY.
(to thk editor of the standard.) Sir,— l see by last night's Standard that a Choral Society lias been success fully inaugurated m our town, and I most heartily wish the promoters every success. lam sure that a great many musical residents of this place have been looking forward to the project being started, and will render every assistance to ensure its continued prosperity. One thing I trust the committee of management will insist upon, . viz., the enrolment only of members who can siug. Let there be no dnmnrie's, and also let there- be a rule to the effect: that the conductors' word is law whilst holding the baton, and that individual members must remiMiiber when attending- rehearsals the necessity of being thoroughly unanimous and social. Apologising for taking up so ranch of your valuable space.— l am, &c., A Well Wisher.
