[ The Greek Chamber of Deputies m view of the present disturbed state of affairs has voted 13,000,000 of drachmas towards increasing the strength of the navy, and 30,000,000 drachmas haß been passed as a patriotic loan m case of hostilities being rendered necessary. - : (beuteb's telegrams.) Constantinople, Nov. 6. The International Conference on the Bulgarian question held its first sitting yesterday, but the proceedings were of a formal nature only, and the sitting was adjourned until to-morrow. London, Nov. 6. The Standard of to-day publishes a telegram from its special Egyptian correspondent, stating that 6000 rebel Arabs are advancing on Wady Haifa. ' Sir Philip Cunliffe Owen n-as entertained at a banquet last night. In the course of his *;Voech he warmly acknow ledged the v.uaable assistance rendered to him by the Agents-General of the various Colonies, which he stated had been the means of securing the success of the Indian and Colonial Exhibition of next year. He concluded by promising a hearty .welcome to all colonists who were able to visit the Exhibition. The rumours of an anti-German agitation at Manilla have been officially denied. Mr Stead, editor of the Pall Mall Gazette, contends that the passing of an Act by the Parliament of South Australia for the protection of females is the result of the publication of the Lily Aruistrong »tory.
