Anniversary Court Manawatu.

The celebration of the ' above Anniversary took place last evening at the Foresters 1 Hall and was attended by a large section of the public as well as by kindred societies. The Hall was very tastefully , decorated with nikan ferns and mottoes of the Society. The latter were displayed to advantage m prominent positions so as to be easily observed by those present and read as follows : — " Benevolence and Friendship are our objects," "Justice and Morality are our characteristics." Dancing commenced with some 30 couples about 9 p.m. and was kept up for a couple of hours with great spirit all appearing to heartily enjoy themselves. At 11.15 the party sat down to supper prepared m Host Walkley'a customary I efficient style; m fact if anything the display was superior to that nsually adopted and was greatly admired by all those present. Representatives were present from the Oddfellows, Hibernians, and Feilding Foresters, making a total o( about 80 sitting down. The usual loyal toast? were given followed by " Kindred Societies," " The Ladies," &c. Dancing was recommenced at about 12.30 anticontinued till tfie small hours. P.0.1i. Bfo. West, acted as M.C. The music was contributed by Messrs Mortensen and Jolly (violins), Mrs Paul acting as piamste. The entertainment was as enjoyable and pleasant a one as has been previously given here, and will be re- • meinberal with many pleasurable recollections by those who attended.
