A 3arge number of cattle sold at the hammer, one or two of the first pens offered being almost the only ones passed 3-yr-pld steers fetched £5 ; 2^-yr-olds up to £4 :125 ; 2-yr-old steers, £3 10s; 2-yr-pld heifers, well bred, £3 11s ; ordinary, £2 11s; yearling steers, £2 9a; yearling heifers, 88s. The sale was generally considered to be satisfactory for sellers, and buyers did not complain of the rates,
