A shareholder then proposed a I'esolufcion m favour of winding up, but the chairman refused to accept it, as no special business couW be taken at the ordinary general meeting. A vote of thanks to tho directors was proposed, but found uo seconder until the solicitor to the company seconded it. The motion was then declared carried, two voices only being heard m its favour. The directors and their relations and friends hold the bulk ..of the shares, and no' adverse resolution can possibly ba carried. The company's lofcs on the shipments per Lady Joc'eiyn and Lyttelton were £388, aud private skippers m some cases lost heavily..
