Stevens and Gorton's Report.
We held a large and successful sale "at Feilding yesterday. We yarded just on 300 head cattle and over 500 sheep. Tho attendance was good, but the bidding for the cattle opened up dull but grew more spirited as the sale progressed, and when it came to the hoggets there was keen competition. We sold all the sheep and nearly all the cattle at the following satisfactory rates : — Cattle.— Fat cows, £5 03 to £5 7s 6d ; fot bullocks, £7 ; fat heifers, £4 15s ; 3yr steers, £4 17s ; 2 and 3-yr steers, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d; 18-month steers, £2 11s ; mixed cattle, i-2 17s 6d ; 18-mpnths heifers, 39s 6d ; mixed weaners, 21s. Sheep. — Fat wethers, 18s 9d ; -hogget j, (mixed), 8s 6d to 9s sd.
